Independence Requirements
When Independence Is Required
Independence requirements differ among SSARS engagements. Review engagements require independence. Compilation engagements do not require independence, but any impairment must be disclosed. Preparation engagements do not require independence.
Note
If independence is impaired, an accountant cannot perform a review engagement.
